A Glorious day!

Goooooooooood afternoon World;

Well,here it is March 29,2014 already. It has been a glorious day so far even with the rain and the gray skies. It is a FANTABULOUS day and I have gotten many a thing done already. I just wanted to get this up and out to all of you who have been faithfully following my writings and meanderings along Life’s path, I say “Thank You!”

No matter what the circumstance, no matter what the weather, no matter where you are “BELIEVE” that you are the “CHANGE” that is needed. Know that your purpose is to find ZEN in everything and share it with others. Know where you are going. Do not be like a ship in a storm, tossed about by every wind of doctrine thqt comes along, but have your heart anchored in a safe harbor of Peace, Harmony and Acceptance! Acceptance of yourself first then the acceptance of others.

David Starr Gordon once wrote: “The world stands aside to allow anyone to pass who knows where he/she is going!”

Remember to do the train crossing in your own life; “STOP, LOOK, LISTEN!”

1) STOP…yourself from going a hundred miles an hour and spend time every morning or evening to think about the day or the one that is coming.

2) LOOK…to set aside one day, twelve times a year or once every month to plan your month.

3) LISTEN…to yourself while you spend one whole week each year to reflect, evaluate and measure the year that has passed, to plan the year that is coming and to stay on track with your purpose!

There is more coming later. I have to get ready to go eat with some friends.

The Shaggy Cricket!

Yes folks, it’s the Mad Hatter visiting the Shaggy Cricket’s blog! WOW!! What a treat!!! Anyway, it is my hope and intention to share with you some thoughts that I have pondered and mulled over in my mind for decades! I hope that you decide to go down the rabbit hole yourself and experience total wonderment and excitement in LIFE!!!! If you are ready, take the plunge NOW!
Weeeeeeeeee!! WOW!! Well, here we are! Have fun exploring LIFE!

Zen; Childlike wonder about everything! To see, To taste, To smell, To hear and feel like it was the first time to experience something new and wonderful to discover and explore.

As I sit here typing away on the computer and contemplating what it is I want translate into words to help encourage others to break out of the mold that they have been poured into. As a victim of pre-programming myself, I can relate to those who are confused about who they are, how they should walk, talk and/or act/react to situations, what school(s) they will attend for their “future” and the list goes on and on.

These pre-conceptions are only reinforced throughout our childhood and beyond.
From the time we are born, we are subjected to other’s thoughts and plans for our lives. We become products of what others have envisioned for us, watching their dreams become reality through us as we grow into society’s expectations for us, but is this really who we are? Does it define us as a person?

Allow me to give you a little background concerning my own journey out of the realm of pre-programming. I was born almost 9 years after the end of the Second World War to an oriental female teenager and an unknown American father. As Simon and Garfunkle’s song says, “Time it was and what a time it was!” Growing up in the turbulent 60’s and 70’s, I reflected often upon my early childhood. I contemplated who I was and who society wanted me to be. I was an impressionable youth and wanted to be liked but was discriminated against because of my oriental background and looks. America was still healing from the war with Japan, then Korea and suddenly Vietnam. America was predjudice against anyone looking oriental during those times.

I was adopted by an American service man and his wife while I was an infant and was brought to the states, living or passing through almost every part of the country during his military time. I was able to make some friends at the places I lived at but for the most part I still had prejudices to overcome. I am thankful for those experiences because without them I believe that I would not be the person I am today, who ever that is!

The late 60’s and early 70’s was a time of personal upheaval, social unrest and chaos. The nation was already reeling from political assassinations and was bitterly divided over the escalating presence of America in South Vietnam. America was hemorrhaging from acts of hatred and violence. It was during this time that I listened to the radio, withdrawing from anyone and everyone, singing along with the songs because music really does calm the savage beast within. It wasn’t easy to tell right from wrong and several songs reflected that very point. One song said “How can everybody be right, when everybody’s wrong!” Another said; “When the world and I were young, just yesterday, life was such a simple game a child could play. It was easy then to tell right from wrong. Easy then to tell weak from strong. When a man should stand and fight or just go along. But today there is no day or night. Today there is no dark or light. Today there is no black nor white……Only shades of gray!”

Many groups and songs have come and gone, but there are certain ones that embed themselves into your brain and silently stalk your thoughts to reawaken your youthful memories once again. Music evokes passion and instills dreams in the hearts and minds of people all over the world. Even at the end of the decade, when so many had lost hope, when the winter of despair gripped the nation, it was music that helped keep America spiritually warm and alive, carrying us forward into a world that all of us had hoped to change. Never before or since has music contained such poetic innocence and social power.

So what does all that have to do with the question of “Who Am I?” Even though we do not like to admit it, we are people of “CHANGE!” “CHANGE” is all around us. It surrounds us and is in us. “CHANGE” is here to stay!” We want “CHANGE”, we need “CHANGE”, we just don’t want to see “CHANGE!” The majority of the population walks around with either rose colored glasses on or with their eyes wide shut to the possibilities that “CHANGE” brings. The decades of the 60’s and 70’s saw radical “CHANGE” politically, environmentally as well as individually. It is my own belief that the “PHOENIX” needs to emerge from the ashes once again and spread it’s wings on the winds of “CHANGE!”

The chaotic times that I grew up in were balanced with music that struck a chord of the times and left a definite impression upon my very being. In the decades of the 80’s, 90’s and the “NEW” Millenium, I have heard songs that captured the emotions of my youth, but they are few and far between.

There will always be “chaotic” times in one’s life! How we handle them will affect our outlook on life and each other because we are all connected. We are not alone on this little blue marble. Daily I put into practice those words of Dr. Wayne Dyer; “When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at “CHANGE!”

Well, I have to get ready to go to work. There will be more encouragement coming from the hearth and the rabbit hole. Till next time, TTFN!!!

The Storms of Life

Goooooood morning World;

The storms of LIFE come, the storms of LIFE go….
Earthquakes, Tornadoes, Hurricanes
each one violent and destructive and yet beautiful in their own way.
Then over time, Mother Earth heals herself.

Be like Mother Earth….
Walk through the tragedies of LIFE, then as soon as possible,
Rebuild yourself!

Guess What Day It Is!!

Can you guess what day it is? That’s right; It’s Huuuuuump Day! It’s almost as much fun as Friday. But enough of the jokularity.

I just wanted to post this quote I found.

“You can hear Mother Earth whisper her stories in the gentle breezes. You can listen to her symphony as you sit in her auditorium of nature. The poetry of the Earth is never dead!”

(John Keats, 1795-1821, English Poet)

Mirror Mirror

Clear Minds

One thing I learned is that a mirror is probably one of the most truthful items we have. It shows us what we really look like contrary to what we think. It is brutally honest about how we look without saying a word. We either we accept what we see or we try to change it. Well we also have to look in the mirror on who we really are. It’s easy to point out the flaws in others but it hard to see the flaws in ourselves. We avoid the mirror of life, some of us don’t even hang one on the wall. But once we take a moment to realize our flaws and start working to improve them, just as we would with our appearance in the bathroom mirror, then will growth take place.

Greetings from the hearth once again;

I would like to open up a discussion concerning an usual sight that I saw while driving home from work on 7 March 2014. As I was driving home, I noticed two red-tailed hawks flying above the tree tops, circling clockwise and above them were two buzzards flying in circles going counter-clockwise.

In all the years that I have hunted, I have never seen anything like that. I told my wife the story after I got home and she asked me if I had an interpretation concerning this sight that I had witnessed. I said that I did not have one yet and she asked me if I had asked the Creator for an interpretation of it. Again the answer was no and she said to me “You have not because you ask not!”

How TRUE that statement is. If we desire wisdom, we must ask for it. If we seek knowledge, we must ask for it. Sometimes the answers are in what we see, not so much in what we hear. The ancients studied nature and learned the lessons that it taught and passed those lessons down through the generations. Unfortunately, the indigenious people of the land have lost that passion to seek the wisdom of Mother Earth, the bearer of LIFE and the consoler of death.

My intention for you in writing this is to blow upon the smoldering embers of your imagination to learn to listen to nature. Study the subtle and walk in clarity. Listen for the ZEN!!

Things I ponder

Hello from the hearth;

Well it’s fast approaching twilight in nature’s realm, however the symphony continues on into night. They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so what is it that we are be-holding to? As in all things, there is beauty. Some beauty captures the imagination. Some captures and ensnares the heart. Beyond what we say, think or do, there is always music associated with beauty.

There are those around us that hear the music and have allowed it to touch the very fabric of their being. There are so many different types of music but they all have the same origin, a creator.

So what is it that you ponder and allow your imagination to run a-muck? The definition of Music is sound arranged into pleasing and interesting patterns. From the dawn of time, music has been in nature, but more importantly it is woven into the very fabric of the cosmos. Music is used to express feelings, ideas, entertain and to relax. No matter what type of form music takes, whether it is country, folk, jazz, rock, RAP or classical, the most simplest and yet most difficult to interpret is the Symphony of Creation!

These are thoughts that are stimulated when I hear music. Music provokes the soul to greatness and we hear and see it in movies, in soundtracks such as “The hills are alive…with the Sound of Music!”

When I listen to nature sing to me, it stirs the spirit and asks questions that there are no answers to except that which is in my own imagination. I begin to ask questions like “What does it sound like when clouds collide, or when stars explode in the vacuum of space? What do galaxies sound like being formed?”

So let me close by saying that I would like to encourage you to strain your ear to hear the cosmic symphony that is playing, embrace the passion and just “BE!” Become lost on the painted sky and fly to distant galaxies on wings of dreams. “BE” that page that aches for a word, which speaks on a theme that is timeless. “BE” timeless…”BE” the change!!!

“BE” yourself!!! You are so beautiful. Never before in creation has there been anyone exactly like you. You are “YOU”nique in the whole universe….what could be more beautiful than that.
